Have big plans to eat out. Thinking of eating early? Perhaps, take in a movie, comedy show or the theater? Maybe the plan is to eat late after a couple of rounds at the bars and eat big?
Would you like to visit the back alley meeting place, where the walls are lined with memorabilia? Many famous faces are framed. Some photos have autographs.
Lilly finally went to Doe's for the first time tonight! It is pricey, but again, all meals are meant to be shared with at least two people. For die hard singles, who don't mind dining alone...Get an appetizer, or two, and a meal to last you through several miles of grazing!
Lilly has recommended Doe's Eat Place, to many out-of-town visitors in the past. People who could drop a few hundred on their crew, for a meaty and filling bunch of food. This is the place for Meat Lover's. The food amount is enormous!
All meals to order are meant to be shared with at least 2 people.
Tonight Lilly ordered 1/2 dozen of the "Doe's Famous Tamales"/w chili. Yep, real chili. No beans. There are several types of hot sauce by Parasol. She liked the Green best. Flavorful but spicy. There are baskets of soda crackers on the tables. Nice wooden tables and wooden, padded chairs.
The service is excellent! ` On the menu is says, if you are new to Doe's they will help you order. Lilly is glad. The salmon looked good, and if she can get someone to split with me, the $40.00 meal, Lilly is sure it will be worth it. She ordered the Fried Shrimp Dinner. This comes with "soaked oil salad" (iceberg lettuce, tomatoes, purple onions, soaked in Olive Oil)
The dinner also comes with a boiled red potato, in butter. Just right, and able to cut with a soup spoon. Also, French Fries. To drink, she got unsweetened tea. Lilly on a budget, is trying to keep the tab under $30.00, so no beer tonight.
Yes, Lilly will go back, and if you have a meat-eater who expends a lot of energy during his day, this is a great place to re-charge him.
Lilly's Doggie Box, weighs over 2 lbs. She has tamales, chili, fries and some potato leftover. Peatey the Grand-dog is negotiating under the door for dibs...
Be sure and get some of Doe's Famous Tamales and Steak! Eat in one hidden favorite of many famous names and faces! You may accidentally rub elbows, or share steak sauce with any number of well known people...

Thank you MyMastiffPuppies! I think there is Doe's in MS, and TN, it is a bit closer, but it is worth a trip to LR, you never know "who" will be there.
