HubPages Questions and Answers
For Hubbers wanting to boost Amazon.com sales, and may not understand the flexibility, and freedom in using Keywords. Matching good content with items titled for their Amazon.com Capsules, boost sales and content. Photos too
. This Hub is a response to a question asked on HubPages regarding sales, clicks and placement from Amazon.com
Sales, earnings, placement
LillyGrillzit, started with HubPages the first week of July 2010. As of today, she has had 4 total purchases completed through Amazon.com.
As with any on-line market, building income and traffic comes exponentially. The best description of exponential is this:
- Get a large tank car
- Day 1, Put in one penny = .01
- Day 2, double it = .02
- Day 3 double the amount = .04
- Keep doing this
- Day 20 = $5,242.88
- Day 30 = $5,368,709.12
Lilly understood when she first started out as an internet publisher in 2007, that if she did make money, it would take time, and many readers.
HubPages, and Hubbers , have provided tools and Hubs, for Lilly to learn how to publish successfully. Her earnings from August 2007 to July of 2010, from two blogs on Blogspot.com, without much advertising, was $1.76. Amazon earnings -0-.
Today, January, 9, 2011 Lilly's earnings are about $60.00 from AdSense alone. Lilly has several other sources for internet publishing , and she is seeing a few dollars here and there. HubPages also sponsors contests, where prizes won are quickly distributed through PayPal. She did win once in a HubMob contest, and is working hard to win again, in the Hubs Grow on Trees Contest though the month of January 2011.

Amazon Affiliate Program
Lilly has heard that if the reader, who comes to your Hub, doesn't purchase the item on that first visit, you lose the sale. This means, they may have clicked on it, and put it in their wish list, but didn't complete the transaction, it is not a valid sale. It seems as if that would be the only way to count a genuine sale. (Lilly doesn't know this as a fact)
Amazon product placement, Keywords or Choose Items?
In July 2010, when Lilly started using Amazon as an Affiliate partner , she was very conscience of the need to place quality products in line with her quality content . She would spend hours pouring over customer comments , and ratings for products . The negative on this is by choosing the items yourself , the product may sell out, or become unavailable. What happens then? When and if the Hubber returns to their Hub, they may be disappointed to find their Hub layout out of whack because items have slowly disappeared.
The benefits of using the Keyword search on Amazon products is that if Amazon sells out of items presently displayed on your pages, or items become available that are a closer match, Amazon keyword placement, causes Amazon to automatically replace them.
One more benefit, Lilly has shown in the Amazon Capsules displayed here, is that an Affiliate or in this case Hubber, may be creative, and find products in a unique manner. Choosing such keywords as Clearance , or Sale, or Close out , may help placement for a Money Saving or Frugal Living Hub . On the other side, a publisher can use Keywords such as New, Finest, and so on. Most writers here will have no problem using their imagination to come up with keywords to display optimum items for sale and in alliance with the writer's published content.
Lilly has made 4 sales and 8.96 earned under the Amazon® Affiliates program. This is with 80+ Hubs of unique, and high content. Lilly has almost 20,000 views. She only uses products that coincide with her Hubs, and attempts not to go too crazy over putting ads in her Hubs.
Lilly wishes all readers the very best, and Good Luck.

LillyGrillzit,
I make almost nothing on the Amazon capsule but they provide so much information to my articles. A photo is worth a thousand words and an Amazon capsule is worth allot - to the reader and potentially to the writer.
Great information - appreciate you sharing. This is important information. I was encouraged or nudged by a fellow Hubber to include the capsule. I first I thought I had sold out but then I realized it helps the article too.
As the Hub marinates and Google recognizes the quality the Amazon capsules I imagine will play a bigger role in the earning potential.
Honest as all heck!
Thanks LillyGrillzit,
